Kids Chicken Blanquette
Ingredients
- Double Happiness Veggie Broth Powder
- 400-500gr chicken fillet
- 1 onion
- 2 celery sticks
- 2 spring onions
- 4 garlic cloves
- 3 carrots
- 100gr mushrooms
- 2 potatoes (optional)
- All purpose flour
- Butter
- 100ml cream
- 4 bayleaves
- Salt and pepper
- Cornstarch
Method
- Fry the onion, celery and garlic with olive oil in a pot. Once onion gets translucent, reserve the fried veggies in a bowl.
- Boil a kettle of water.
- Color the chicken meat with olive oil in the same pot. Add 3 tablespoons of flour and stir. Transfer fried veggies back in, and add the carrots. Cover with boiled water.
- Add 3 tablespoons DH Veggie Broth powder and 3 tablespoons of DH Cream of Anything soup. Add the bayleaves and stir.
- Season with salt and pepper and simmer for 30 minutes once gentle boiling starts (only small bubbles, no strong boiling).
- 10 minutes before the end, add the mushrooms and the cream.
- Once cooking is over, remove veggies, meat and bayleaves. Throw the bay leaves.
- Add 1.5 tablespoons cornstarch and whisk the sauce on a stronger burner for 5 minutes.
- Put meat and veggies back, and serve!
